Challenges in Managing a: Polish-Ukrainian Team: Exploring Intercultural, International, and Interlingual Differences

Abstract

Managing a diverse team composed of members from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds is a challenging task that requires developed leadership skills and a deep understanding of cultural differences. This chapter explores the challenges Polish managers face when managing a team consisting of Polish and Ukrainian citizens. Drawing on both theoretical and empirical evidence, the chapter examines the intercultural and international differences that arise in such teams. By identifying and analysing these challenges, the chapter aims to provide insights into how to skilfully manage such teams. The study is theoretical and empirical, and the literature review made in it will be a contribution to the consideration of multiculturalism in the modern world. The chapter concludes with practical recommendations for effectively addressing these challenges, emphasising the importance of cultural awareness and sensitivity in managing diverse teams. The chapter sheds light on the complexities of managing a Polish-Ukrainian team and provides useful insights for managers working in similar multicultural settings.
