Концепції Майдану та Революції Гідності у закордонних публікаціях

Abstract

Стаття присвячена детальному аналізу зображення подій Майдану 2013-2014 років і Революції Гідності у закордонних публікаціях, зокрема у роботах провідних західних дослідників, істориків та аналітиків. Основна увага зосереджена на різних підходах до осмислення ролі цих подій у формуванні сучасної української нації, їхньому впливі на політичну ситуацію в Україні та ширший геополітичний контекст. Висвітлені у статті дослідження представляють різні інтерпретації цих історичних подій та їх наслідків для українського суспільства. Розглянуто фактори під впливом яких Майдан набув символічного значення боротьби за демократичні цінності, людську гідність і право на самоорганізацію, ставши точкою відліку для нових соціальних і політичних змін. Методологія дослідження базується на глибокому аналізі наукових публікацій, частина яких раніше не були об’єктом окремого вивчення вітчизняними дослідниками. Використано міждисциплінарний підхід, який дозволяє проаналізувати події Майдану та Революції Гідності в різних вимірах: соціальному, політичному, культурному та релігійному. Особливий акцент зроблено на порівняльному аналізі різних інтерпретацій і наративів щодо подій, який дозволив сформувати цілісну картину протестів як багатогранного соціально-політичного явища. Автор дійшов висновку, що Майдан і Революція Гідності зображено у більшості закордонних досліджень не лише як переломний момент в історії України, а й як важливий чинник у процесі консолідації української нації, трансформації політичної ідентичності та соціальних інститутів. Розглянуті наукові розвідки підкреслюють значення цих подій як інструменту дезінституціоналізації пострадянської політики та протистояння між демократичними й авторитарними силами. Майдан розглядається як ключовий елемент, що заклав основу для подальших реформ і зміцнення демократичних цінностей в українському суспільстві, сприяв формуванню нових соціальних контрактів і виведенню України на новий етап її розвитку. The article is dedicated to a detailed analysis of the depiction of the events of Maidan 2013-2014 and the Revolution of Dignity in foreign publications, particularly in the works of leading Western researchers, historians, and analysts. The primary focus is on various approaches to understanding the role of these events in the formation of the modern Ukrainian nation, their impact on the political situation in Ukraine, and the broader geopolitical context. The studies highlighted in the article present different interpretations of these historical events and their consequences for Ukrainian society. The factors that influenced how Maidan gained symbolic significance as a struggle for democratic values, human dignity, and the right to self-organization, becoming a starting point for new social and political changes, have been examined. The methodology of the research is based on a deep analysis of scientific publications, some of which have not previously been the subject of separate study by domestic researchers. An interdisciplinary approach is employed, allowing for the analysis of the events of Maidan and the Revolution of Dignity across various dimensions: social, political, cultural, and religious. Particular emphasis is placed on a comparative analysis of different interpretations and narratives regarding the events, which enabled the formation of a comprehensive picture of the protests as a multifaceted socio-political phenomenon. The author concludes that Maidan and the Revolution of Dignity are depicted in most foreign studies not only as a turning point in the history of Ukraine but also as an important factor in the process of consolidating the Ukrainian nation, transforming political identity, and social institutions. The examined academic studies underscore the significance of these events as an instrument for the deinstitutionalization of post-Soviet politics and the confrontation between democratic and authoritarian forces. Maidan is viewed as a key element that laid the foundation for further reforms and the strengthening of democratic values in Ukrainian society, contributing to the formation of new social contracts and ushering Ukraine into a new stage of its development.
