Розвиток регіональної благодійності в ХІХ – початку ХХ ст. в Миколаєві як основи соціального захисту населення

Abstract

Дослідження присвячено розвитку регіональної благодійності в ХІХ – на початоку ХХ століття в місті Миколавєві, як основи соціального захисту населення. У процесі дослідження застосовано методи теоретико-методологічного аналізу: вивчення, аналіз і узагальнення наукової літератури, навчальних та методичних видань з досліджуваної проблеми, порівняння та узагальнення даних (вивчення історичних аспектів формування благодійності, причинно-наслідкових зв’язків), синтез (аналіз впливу благодійності на становлення системи соціального захисту населення), узагальнення та конкретизації. Установлено, що в науковій літературі залишаються дискусійними питання зародження благодійної діяльності, статусу благодійної діяльності в різні історичні епохи та системи суспільних відносин, форми філантропії та їх еволюція, співвідношення понять «благодійність» і «меценатство». Сучасне визначення благодійності базується переважно на емпіричних матеріалах благодійних організацій, індивідуальній діяльності та висновках наукових досліджень у сфері суспільних наук, більшість із яких порушують проблеми благодійності в рамках своїх провідних питань. Благодійність у Миколаєві стала складовою частиною повсякденного життя забезпеченого прошарку населення. З метою допомоги незахищеним верствам населення миколаївська еліта створювала благодійні організації, або товариства, що дозволило змінити життя багатьох мешканців Миколаєва на краще, сприяла їх соціальному захисту. На початку XX ст. відбувається становлення системи соціального захисту населення. На даний час благодійна діяльність в Україні перебуває на хвилі піднесення: в державі діє величезна кількість благодійних фондів, а в їх діяльності беруть участь багато громадян. Залучена ними допомога в значній мірі сприяє вирішенню ряду проблем, які виникли в державі, а добросовісні благодійні фонди користуються високим рівнем довіри.

The study is devoted to the development of regional charity in the 19th - at the beginning of the 20th century in the city of Mykolaiv, as the basis of social protection of the population. In the research process, methods of theoretical and methodological analysis were applied: study, analysis and generalization of scientifi c literature, educational and methodical publications on the researched problem, comparison and generalization of data (study of historical aspects of the formation of charity, cause and eff ect relationships), synthesis (analysis of the infl uence of charity on the formation of the system of social protection of the population), generalization and specifi cation. It has been established that in the scientifi c literature, the issues of the origin of charitable activity, the status of charitable activity in diff erent historical eras and systems of social relations, forms of philanthropy and their evolution, and the relationship between the concepts of «charity» and «patronage» remain debatable. The modern defi nition of philanthropy is based mainly on the empirical materials of charitable organizations, individual activities and the conclusions of scientifi c studies in the fi eld of social sciences, most of which raise the problems of philanthropy as part of their leading questions. Charity in Mykolaiv has become an integral part of the everyday life of the well-to-do population. In order to help vulnerable sections of the population, the Mykolaiv elite created charitable organizations or societies, which made it possible to change the lives of many residents of Mykolaiv for the better, and contributed to their social protection. At the beginning of the 20th century the system of social protection of the population is being formed. Currently, charitable activities in Ukraine are on the rise: there are a huge number of charitable foundations in the country, and many citizens participate in their activities. The assistance provided by them greatly contributes to the solution of a number of problems that have arisen in the state, and bona fi de charitable foundations enjoy a high level of trust.
